The Germans put the doctors and their families, apart from Dr Reiter, into trucks and drove off. A car with armed Schupo policemen was waiting on the corner of the street, the victims got immediately surrounded . On the same day, when the workers came back from the quarry in Kadzielnia, located on the way to the Jewish cemetery, they were saying they had seen trucks with doctors driving towards the cemetery. The next day, Schupo policemen sent the doctors' belongings to the camp, keeping their instruments and better clothes for themselves. It was an indisputable sign that the victims had been executed in the Jewish cemetery in Kielce. The Poles living near the cemetery later claimed that they heard gunshots and horrifying screams on that day. |
