Full Testimony | On 6 December 1941, during the first action in Horodenka, Kolomyia county, Germans took 2,480 Jews to the woods in Siemakowce. [...] One armed Gestapo soldier took 20 people to the forest, where one enormous grave, 50 m x 50 m and 3 m deep, was situated. [...] We were standing on a board placed across the ditch. A table with a machine gun on it was placed opposite us. [...] The grave was filled up, covered in moss, with big rocks placed on one side, is situated at the verge of the forest, maybe 100 steps from the Dniestr River, on the left side if you go from Horodenka. |
