On 4 July 1942 I got, just like other farmers, an official notification from SS in Krakow that I was supposed to go to Skawina: somewhere between Tyniec and Skawina SS men would be waiting to "take care of me". [...] On 8 July a guard arrived and he advised me not to go. [...] I went to Tyniec by cart and learnt there that graves had been dug for us on the way from Tyniec to Skawina. I was preparing for death [...]. I took advantage of the commotion and got a ration card for a flat as the first person. I immediately climbed into the cart and went to Skawina. In the meantime, 2 trucks with 100 drunk SS men arrived and stopped the whole transport on a meadow, released the barrier and did not let anyone out. They executed everyone. Injured people and dead bodies were thrown into a pit and buried. |
