[spring 1943] The wilderness hut was surrounded by forest from every side and Germans (soldiers) took positions around it. [...] Germans, in their customary manner, threw grenades near the barn. […] A soldier guarding the gate managed to kill two people. [...] Some guerilla soldiers, who were probably sleeping in the barn, ran through the ploughed field of the garden, straight into the teeth of German guns. 4 guerilla soldiers died there. One guerilla soldier died by the byre. [...] Five Jewish and two Russian guerilla soldiers died in that fight. [...] The seven dead guerilla soldiers were buried in a common grave near the Budy Brodzkie-Piotrowe Pole road, by the southern side of the wilderness hut. |
