On 4 July, i.e. on Friday afternoon, the main synagogue was set on fire. Some older Jewish people were inside, because, as I heard, the Nazis herded them there using force and then brought containers with fuel from the tucks and spilt it all over wooden contraptions and benches inside the synagogue. They set it on fire and closed the main door on the west side and the side door on the north side as well. From my yard, located on a hill about 350 m away, my family, my neighbours and I could see the synagogue burning |
