After some time, the Germans isolated a few streets for the Jews and gathered all of them there. They called this district "Judenstadt" and herded there all the Jews from Lipniszki, Bakszty, Mikołajów, etc. A few families, who were supposed to go to Woroneż, came to us as well. A policeman called Zebryk arrested them just around the corner of "Judenstadt" and handed them over to the Gendarmerie. On the order of the Lida county commander they were all gathered and executed in the Jewish cemetery. One girl managed to escape the cemetery and returned to the district. When the police found out, they took her back and shot [her] on the bodies of those killed before. It all happened during Hanukkah (December) in 1941. |
