Nazis entered Boryslav on the 10th day of war, on Tuesday, i.e. 1 July 1941. Already on Thursday the first pogrom of Jews took place and lasted till Friday at 2 p.m. [...]. Shortly afterwards the proper murderers arrived [...] The first pogrom under their command took place during Jewish holidays. [...] the executions were carried out in the vicinity of the town. Germans brought the victims in the cars to the nearby forest, stripped them of their clothes, and were supposed to kill them, but in fact Jews were thrown into the ditches half-alive. 1,200 souls were murdered that day |
