Full Testimony	On 25 July 1941 [...] 12 SS soldiers came to Ashmyany. It was Saturday. They took all men in the number of 1,000. They were ordered to come to work with shovels. All of them were placed on trucks and taken to the woods near Bartele village, a few kilometres outside the town [...] in the evening we learnt that our fathers and brothers were killed
