[1942] Jews were starting to figure it out, because Germans ordered them to dig 5 large pits in the forest in P'yatydni. They asked Germans what the pits were for and were told that those were for petrol tanks. Germans were lying, as always, trying to hide the home truth from Jews. The action began on 15 September 1942. The ghetto was surrounded by Germans and Ukrainians, trying to prevent any attempts of escape [...] Jews were transported to P'yatydni, to those 5 prepared pits. They were told to undress and separately: men, women, and children, they were shot. Victims' bodies were falling into the graves [...] The action lasted 4 weeks. 18,000 Jews died back then. |
