[15 February 1943] 600 people, including a lot of children, were herded into the cinema and kept there for 3 days. Meanwhile, in the same town, near the slaughterhouse, a pit was being dug for them. They were executed in the same manner as everywhere else. Naked, standing on a board stretched over the pit, they were swept into the grave with machine guns [...] Continuous executions were taking place until June 1943. Whenever a pit was being dug near the slaughterhouse, the Jews would go there to see how big it was and by its size they would figure out how many people were supposed to die. People weren't transported anywhere any more. They were executed right there. There were more and more mass graves around that slaughterhouse. |
