Full Testimony	On Thursday, 16 October, we were told that the Gestapo would take 60-70 Jews to work. All the entries were guarded by the Ukrainians. The Gestapo men who came to town, were going with the Ukrainians from house to house. They gathered all the Jews on the market square. [...] Suddenly, we heard gun shots coming from a hill near the Judenrat [...] It was getting dark, no one had been released yet, and the gun shots were not stopping [...] We were telling ourselves that maybe the men hadn't been released yet, because they would be taken to work. But what about women and children - we wondered. They calmed us down. Later on, we found out that women were shot dead and children were thrown into the grave alive in order "not to waste bullets". [...] The hill where the Jews were executed, was called by the Germans "the Jewish hill." On Saturday morning we already knew that 2088 Jews had been killed.
