Villagers from Berdechów call it "Little Katyn", because beside Jews also French, Russians and English were executed there. Whoever got caught, was taken to the forest in Berdechów. They were mostly Jews during the displacement of 750 Jews on 9th March 1942. Another 30 persons, mainly individuals who got insane, infants and elderly, were taken from the hangar in Chorzelów on the first day of the displacement. Next, Jews who were led to take a bath. They picked older people and executed them, not to mention the PZL (Sate Aviation Works), the typhus-infected ones were finished off. |
