soon after that another action in the Stryi ghetto took place. Gestapo men along with German and Ukrainian Schutzpolizei officers with hand grenades and machine guns were going from one Jewish house to another and dragging terrified people out. First, they were held without food and water for two days under guard in a synagogue and then for a few days in prison. Next, they were transported in groups to a Jewish cemetery. Some of them were taken to Holobutiv near Stryj, where all the men, women and children were executed. Stripped naked and in groups of 12, they had to stand on a board over the grave. Standing on the board, they were shot by the Gestapo men in such a way as to fall into the grave. Children were still alive when thrown into this mass grave.
