[April 1942] In Stawy village there was a camp and in that camp there were arms warehouses [...] Immediately, on the first day of work, Germans executed 54 Jewish men. It happened as follows: [...] The lieutenant and the captain asked who was sick, weak, and who wanted to go back to Dęblin. 15 men volunteered and the lieutenant himself chose the rest - 54 men altogether. The chosen men were taken to the forest, where I, along with other people, was working. They were shot and the rest of us were told to bury them. |
