| העדות המלאה | [30 August 1942] There were two groups: one with women, girls, young boys and girls up to 12 years; the other, comprised of old people, toddlers, infants in pillows and handicapped was loaded onto trucks. The trucks were high, so the "baudienst" (building service) were ordered to help the older and handicapped get into the trucks, while the children were being grabbed by legs and thrown in on those, who were already there. When the trucks were full, they were driving off very quickly toward the forest at Podbory, where deep pits had already been prepared. The trucks were stopping few metres away from the pits. People were being pulled out in groups of five, ordered to strip naked, put their belongings in one place and sit on the edge of the pit facing the ground. They were shot from behind. [...] once the pit was filled almost to the brim, drunk baudiensts (workers) were ordered to cover it with dirt, though the bodies were still moving. |
