| העדות המלאה | In August 1942, Jews were taken from the ghetto in Rzeszów to the Zaczernie Forest (10 km north from Rzeszów) where they were executed for 3-4 hours in the morning from 2 p.m. till dusk. [...] 10-15, 000 people were shot every week, altogether about 60,000 Jews. Apart from that, Polish prisoners and members of the underground organisations were executed separately at varying intervals. Jews were buried in mass graves in Zaczernie Forest I (a path leading from the main road leads to the place of execution ) by the forester's lodge about 200-300 meters south from the north-west forehead of the aforementioned forest. The graves had been prepared by Polish youths, forced to do so, from Bau or Arbeitsamt. The prisoners and members of underground organisations were buried in sandy hills about 300 meters south-east from the forehead of the forest. |
