| העדות המלאה | Next day, on 5 October 1941, about 400 Jews answered the call, regardless of their occupation and education. They were sorted there and divided into groups of 100 people. The groups, separately and escorted by the Gestapo, were taken to the woods in the north part of the city, so-called 'Brzezina', behind the hospital. As it later turned out, each group had to dig mass graves for themselves on separate clearings. [...] In the following so-called actions in other parts of the 'Brzezina' forest, large pits were dug and the victims brought to that place were ordered by the Gestapo men to strip naked, place their clothes in one place and their rings and wedding rings, if they still had them, in another place. The victim would stand over the grave and the Gestapo man would shoot the person and he or she would fall into that grave. |
