Another group of 40, including myself, was sent to the garden by Staro-Krakowska street in order to bury the dead. Till 3 p. m. we buried about 3,000 corpses delivered there in wagons, by another group. [...] We dug out three graves. The one I was working at was 6 m long and 4 m wide. The bodies were thoroughly searched for valuables or money; they were buried fully clothed. The bodies were laid one on top of another creating 5 layers, with another 3 layers along the grave; inside, the ditch was filled with lime. |
