On Thursday 27 May [1943] at 5 a.m. a violent shooting began. [...] They gathered 3,000 people and killed about 800 right away. At 3 o'clock, having taken all of the people's jewels and money [...] they started leading them to the Jewish cemetery in groups of 100-200 persons, where 70 young Jews had been digging two enormous pits since the morning. [...] People were stripped naked and shot over the grave. [...] Those who were digging the graves were shot at the very end and those collecting the things taken from the victims were executed an hour later. |
