The Germans entered Mykulyntsi in June 1941. On the very next day, they took twelve Jews to work in the breweries. A horse died on that day. They were told to dig a 'grave' for the horse. Then, they were crushed to death with shovels, pushed into the pit and, at the end, the dead horse was thrown on them. Nevertheless, some people were still alive. Among them was a woman who managed to climb out of the pit before it was covered with ground, but she was caught and thrown back, then they were all buried alive.
